This year during the 12-13-14 September will take place on the famous game of human chess, which will take place in Piazza degli Scacchi in Marostica. This event is famous all over the world refers to something that happened in 1454, when Taddeo Parisio the Governor of Marostica, invited the two young contenders for the hand of his daughter to compete in a game of chess that would take place with living pieces rather than in a violent duel. This event went down in history since 1954 and every two years a game of chess is played with real characters on the giant chess board in Marostica's Piazza taking inspiration from two of the best games in history, "L’Immortale" and "Sempreverde", because unfortunately, it is impossible to reproduce the exact moves that were made during the first game played by the two contenders.
